The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned.
You have enlarged the nation
and increased their joy;
they rejoice before you
as people rejoice at the harvest,
as warriors rejoice
when dividing the plunder.
For as in the day of Midian’s defeat,
you have shattered
the yoke that burdens them,
the bar across their shoulders,
the rod of their oppressor.
Every warrior’s boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning,
will be fuel for the fire.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the Lord Almighty
will accomplish this.
Lady Beatrice Manning
I am a native of Marvell, Arkansas. It was in this great city that I spent my formative years. Where I grew up and enjoyed the pleasures of being a child and young adult.
God was intentional about every detail of my life. He wanted me to have the best, and blessed me with my incredible husband, Rev. Dr. Roy L. Manning, Sr. I am honored to serve beside him at the sensational Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, in Saginaw, Michigan.
I have been richly blessed with three outstanding children and three brilliant grandchildren. They are an inheritance from the Lord.
God granted me the awesome privilege of receiving a great education. I received my Bachelors of Arts Degree from Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee. I continued my educational pursuit at Saginaw Valley State University where I earned my Masters of Arts Degree. I used this education to serve the students in my church and community. After spending 30 years teaching in the Saginaw Public Schools, I retired. I consider teaching as one of the highlights of life, touching the lives of so many children in both elementary and secondary settings.
I am actively engaged in the ministries in my church, I serve in the following capacity: Chairperson of the Scholarship Committee at CMBC, Adult Sunday School Teacher, Mission Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Mission Choir, Intercessory Prayer Ministry and formerly served as Youth Night Instructor.
With great loyalty I have served in the following capacity on the state and local levels:
- Chairperson of the Wolverine State Fashion Share Outreach Ministries.
- Vice Chairperson Wolverine State Minister Wives and Widows.
- Past Instructor for Wolverine State Congress of Christian Education and Saginaw Valley District Congress of Education.
- Other notable affiliation include: NAACP Silver Life Member.
